Modern phone and laptop chips are BGA packages — hundreds of tiny solder balls under the chip connect it to the board. A drop, heat cycles, a swollen battery pressing on the board or a poor earlier repair can crack those joints. The symptoms look like a dead chip: random restarts, no charging, no network, no display, overheating. Reballing lifts the chip, cleans it, applies fresh solder balls through a precision stencil and re-seats it with a controlled heat profile.

Reballing vs replacing the IC
If the chip itself is healthy and only its solder joints failed, reballing the original chip is the best repair — it keeps paired components (important for iPhone NAND/CPU/baseband) and costs less. If the chip is electrically dead, we replace it with a donor chip from our stock of original boards — one reason we buy dead phones.

What is IC reballing?

How do I know my phone needs reballing?
