One of the first questions customers ask when they walk into our Keshavpura shop with a cracked iPhone is: why does the screen replacement cost so much more than on an Android phone? It is a fair question, and it deserves an honest answer. iPhones use high-grade OLED displays that are manufactured to tight tolerances, and Apple's software links certain display functions to the original hardware serial number. All of this affects both the part cost and the care required during installation.
Why iPhone Screens Cost More
Every iPhone from the iPhone X onwards uses an OLED display — the same technology as Samsung Galaxy flagships, but sourced from premium suppliers. OLED panels are more expensive to produce than the LCD screens used in budget Android phones. Additionally, iPhones include True Tone (automatic colour temperature adjustment), ProMotion (120 Hz on Pro models), and Apple's display calibration tied to the logic board. Replacing the screen with a non-genuine panel can disable True Tone and, in some cases, trigger a persistent warning in Settings.
Part Quality Options Available
At our shop we offer two quality tiers for iPhone screens:
- High-quality aftermarket OLED: Restores full touch and visual function. True Tone may be lost on some models. No persistent software warning on most models. Significantly lower cost.
- Original-grade / OEM equivalent panel: Preserves True Tone and produces colours closest to the factory display. Higher cost, but the best outcome for customers who care about colour accuracy.
We explain both options and let you decide. We never swap to a cheaper part without telling you — that kind of transparency is something we have been practising at this shop since 2005.

What Affects the Final Price
- Model variant: Pro Max models often have larger displays that cost slightly more than the standard model.
- Damage beyond the screen: If the drop also damaged the frame, backlight connector, or Face ID sensor, additional work is needed.
- Part availability: Newer models (within 6-12 months of release) sometimes have higher part costs due to limited supply.
Does Screen Replacement Affect Face ID?
Face ID is housed in the front camera module, not the screen itself. When we replace the screen, we transfer your original Face ID sensor to the new panel — so Face ID continues to work normally. The only risk is if the sensor was already damaged before the repair, which we check for during the free diagnosis.
How Long Does It Take?
A standard iPhone screen replacement at our Keshavpura shop takes 1-2 hours. We test the new display thoroughly — touch sensitivity across the full screen, brightness levels, front camera, Face ID — before handing the phone back. Kota's coaching students usually drop the phone in the morning and collect it the same afternoon.
If your iPhone screen is cracked, flickering, or completely black, bring it in for a free assessment. We will confirm the exact repair needed and the cost before we start — no commitment required just to get a quote.
